Description
Fantastic Ryegrass – Annual mid-late diploid is the sheep feed specialist. This exceptional early finishing variety ryegrass has been specifically bred for early winter feed. This variety is extremely quick to its first grazing, and it’s high winter growth rate allows the production of excellent quality silage and hay with outstanding dry matter yields. Due to its early maturation and it’s exceptionally rapid regrowth, Fantastic has great seed setting ability. Fantastic is ideal ryegrass to use for over-sowing rundown sheep pastures and/or direct drilling.
Agronomic Information:
- Medium to high rainfall (400mm+)
- Tolerance for lower/shorter rainfall seasons due to early flowering
- Sowing rate 20-25kg/ha
- Performs best in a well-drained loam soil however, is a well-adapted product with the ability to perform in a range of soil conditions and profiles. Fantastic will cope with short-term water-logging provided growing tip remains above water
- Highly resistant to crown rust
