The photo below is of two of our oat varieties, Elgin on the left and Forrester on the right. Out of interest, we placed them in a company trial site at Dumbleyung to evaluate their performance in a lower rainfall zone. Both performed really well until the rain stopped. They are long-season varieties so very much suited to higher rainfall and longer-season areas. Both make great hay with Forrester having a lot of leaf area for great bulk.

Next to the oats we placed some Ryegrass pasture, BPS Eastern mix on the left, Prine Ryegrass in the middle and Wicher Ryegrass on the right. Eastern mix as it suggests is one of our proprietary mixes suitable for 350ml rainfall zones. It has 3 x ryegrass varieties and 3 x Clover varieties blended with group C inoculant for easy sowing.

Both Prine and Wicher ryegrass are in the eastern mix so well suited to 350ml rainfall areas, Prine is about 5 days shorter than Wicher and we are finding it is performing slightly better then Wicher in these areas.
