While most would think it wasn’t the time of year for speedway, the Bunbury Car Club hosted its annual Winter Nationals meeting at Bunbury Speedway over the June long weekend.

The recent experience that Jake Fisher has gathered put him in good stead for the winter showdown which boasted a healthy field of Top Star Junior racers.

His class was on show for all to see as the starting positions did not phase the youngster, weaving through cars to simply dominate his rivals.

Winning both heats and taking out the all important A Main feature race topped off a perfect weekend for the young ace who has found his feet in the new Mitsubishi Mirage.

With a great result now in his keeping and adding to his already long list of achievements for season 22/23, he will now take a short mid year break before he returns to Ellenbrook Speedway later this year to contend the winter events.

All is going to plan for his next big challenge, the 2024 National Junior Title in the east and he is more than ready to take that next step on the speedway evolutionary scale.

With a strong results card for this season, being only his second in junior speedway competition, he is growing in confidence and driving skill.

He now will look at what the future holds and look forwards to his next series of challenges that lay ahead, which he will welcome with open arms.
