A final shot is ready to be fired this weekend at Wanneroo raceway, with the WA Excel Cup Final being run at the circuit. Bunbury driver, Jake Fisher can’t wait for Saturday to arrive, as he looks to finish his maiden season well inside the top ten.

Also not far from the front of his mind is the Rookie Championship title fight, which he has a strong chance at placing on the podium for the year. An amazing feat in just his maiden season of road racing.

While he openly admits there is still much for him to learn, he is gaining good racing knowledge as he progresses and is applying it well. While the game is tough, the easiset way to learn for him is to apply what he knows.

With some extremely versatile and hard drivers to beat this weekend, he will be using this as his next step forward into 2026 and he knows how hard the journey will become.

With an Eastern States racing campaign planeed for 2026, Fisher is excited at what the future holds for his blossoming career.

“I can’t wait for next year,” he said. “While I’ve learned a lot this year, I know I will learn a heap over there and against some tough competition.”

But the most important thing is to keep himself grounded and get this weekends’ fight out the way and set himself up for a big 2026.

“There’s a lot of good drivers nominated for this weekend, so yeah, I’m ready for it,:” he said. “I just have to be ready for anything that gets thrown at me and then give as much back.”

With a big field up for the fight on Saturday, expect to see his name right in the middle of it all and he expects one of the toughest assignments he has had to face for the year so far.
