It was an impressive start to his road racing career for Bunbury racing driver, Jake Fisher as he now begins to find his feet on the black track.
After several test and tune days over recent months, he entered his first enduro event at Wanneroo raceway over the weekend with pleasing results and also some very valuable racing lessons learned.
A joint team driver event, Fisher also had the opportunity to race on his own and he was keen to put his foot down. With 16 cars in the field, Fisher turned heads on his debut, coming home in 5th place.
A learning from this result saw him handed a 5 second penalty for rolling back in the starting box, sending him back to 10th place.
The one hour enduro race, teaming up with Harrison Beres, was outstanding with him starting the race and in strong form, he showed that passing competitors would not be an issue.
With a great team effort from his driving partner they brought the car home in third place, on the podium. They also received The Most Prestigious Drive Awards for their combined team effort on the day.
A strong performance in a sensational debut that has left Fisher with wanting more and keen to show off his talents on a bigger stage.
Several Perth and Collie events remain for Fisher to compete ayt for the rest of 2024 and even an interstate visit to Tailem Bend for another enduro event maybe on the cards for the young ace.
As his career continues to shine, he is adamant that he will stay grounded as he begins to learn a new trade in the motorsport game and he will only take giant leaps forward into a much bigger motorsport circle in the months ahead.
