For up and coming Excel Championship driver, Jake Fisher, he is fast learning the change from dirt track to road racing is not an easy transition.
But the youngster is keen to learn and is fast finding his feet in the road racing Hyundai Excel Cup Series.
He is currently sitting 9th overall on points in the championship and as the next round fast approaches this weekend at Collie Motorplex, he will be once again be in another learning phase in his motorsport journey.
There ‘s no doubt in his mind at how competitive the series is for new drivers like himself and he knows that this weekend is going to be another learning curve for him.
Another strong list has nominated for the weekend and Fisher is keen to push his car a little harder to find his limit as the race for the WA Excel Cup Championship heats up.
“I’m really looking forward to this weekend,” he said. “I’m learning every time I go out there and this weekend is no different.”
One of the most intriguing things for the young ace is how quickly he has learned on setting up his car for surfaces, track conditions and alike. He is now starting to get the grips of what his car does when changing set ups with shocks.
He will take this into the weekend at Collie on Sunday with another fresh set of eyes and look to gain from the experience once again.
He is more than confident that a top five placing is achievable by the end of the racing season if he keeps his head in the game. Something he is capable of doing.
It will be all eyes forward on Sunday and he is looking to continue to push forward at a rapid rate to achieve his aspirations.
