Jake Fisher has opened his season with a great podium finish at Geraldton City Speedway on Saturday night.
The JSRA roadshow headed to the Mid-West to open its massive season ahead in Geraldton and a healthy field of cars were there on hand to kick off the opening round.
Deciding to up the commitment to the sport and now in his third season of racing, Fisher was outstanding, showing that his experience is now starting to pay off.
He moved forward in heat races, used different parts of the 360m Geraldton track to gain advantages and also showed why he is the up and coming star of the future.
With a massive combined field of 30 nominations, Fisher had his work cut out for him right from the get go.
His heat race points would see him start from 8th place in the A Main feature race. He passed cars in the early stages, working his way into the top five. With the race pressing on, another pass he made and he was on the hunt.
As the chequered flag came down he brought the car home in second place for the night, an outstanding result for his first night out.
