With the second event in his brand new car now done, Jake Fisher is more than happy with the result, being his first win at Collie Speedway on Saturday night.

Following up from a podium at Manjimup the week before, taking second place there, he is very pleased with the new car and is keen to take on the state’s best in the upcoming WA Championship next month.

While the new car is showing good results as well as good speed, Fisher admits he is still finding his way with the new machinery and admitted, there’s quite a bit more to this car.

“The set up for the car is different,” he said. “We’re still learning at the moment, so it will take a little bit of getting used to.”

He was in good form at Collie on Saturday night and perhaps the most encouraging signs were that each heat race, he moved the car forward.

Starting in pole position in the feature, he was never headed and landed the car on top of the podium and was extremely happy with the way the car handled on the slick Collie Speedway surface.
All eyes are on the main game next month as he continues his preparation for the big state title at Ellenbrook next month.
