Description
Creeping, spreading, and innovative, Corsica Creeping Ryegrass is a permanent turf-type perennial ryegrass designed for rapid self-repair through reproductive tillers. It offers unparalleled turf density and a creeping growth habit that enhances coverage and durability. With an extremely fine texture, attractive colour, and reduced mowing requirements, this perennial ryegrass combines aesthetics with practicality. Its strong disease resistance and superior turf strength make it ideal for sports field renovations and turf production, while its higher concentration of creeping plants sets it apart from other creeping ryegrass varieties. Corsica is ideal for ornamental, recreational and hardwearing lawns. The plant forms dense runners after the first winter and is thus able to regenerate on its own and repair any damaged areas.
Agronomic Information:
- Requires a pH of 5.5 – 7.2
- Prostrate growth that smothers weeds and fills in patches
- Lesser amounts of erect growth, for less cutting and naturally a lower plant height
- High disease resistance, fewer chemicals required to maintain an attractive turf
- Ideal for use on its own or with other grass species
- Can be cut as low as 4mm – Ideal for harder wearing amenity areas including: lawns, landscaping, turf productions, sports (including football, rugby, golf, cricket, bowling greens, racecourses, tennis etc)
- Seed can be sown from March to May or Mid August to October (soil is warm and moist in these periods)
- Sowing Rates 5-7kg per 100m2 for new lawn
- Time to over seed will be Spring or Autumn. Sowing rates for over-seeding is 2kg per 100m2
- Do not cut more than a third of the growth in height.
