Description
This newly released NZ bred cocksfoot has been bred for high yields with good compatibility within pasture mixes, and strong root development for summer dry tolerance. This new variety has high tiller density and soft ryegrass-like leaves with very good disease resistance. Well suited for inclusion in pasture mixes or as a specialist pasture in summer dry areas. Strong comparative growth across all seasons, with excellent cool season activity.
Agronomic Information:
- Persistence up to 5 years in the right season
- Very good disease resistance
- Sowing rate 4-6kg/ha standalone or 1-2kg/ha in a mix
- Incorporate as a specialist summer-dry prone permanent pasture, sown with clover, and/or plantain and chicory. Alternatively, the inclusion of 1-2kg/ha of Kainui in mixes with ryegrass and white clover.
