Awesome Ryegrass – Italian Very Late Diploid is a very late maturing plant of Italian parentage providing extended grazing well into Summer if Summer rainfall is provided or on irrigation. Due to its exceptionally late maturation, it’s quality is maintained well into the season making it perfect for your hay and sileage crops. Once cut, Awesome has extremely rapid regrowth capabilities allowing it to persist for 2 seasons in favorable conditions. This biennial diploid with its prolific regrowth capacity means it is possible to cut both hay and silage in one season.
Agronomic Information:
- Medium to high rainfall zones (400mm+)
- Suitable for irrigation
- Performs best in well-drained loam soil, however, will cope with short-term water-logging provided growing tip remains above water. Well adapted product with the ability to perform in a range of soil conditions and profiles
- Sowing rates 20-25kg/ha
- Ideal for over-sowing
- Proven second-year performer.
