Description
Chicory is a perennial deep-rooted herb providing potentially high-quality feed during the warmer months. Where grazing management allows, chicory is free-seeding and able to regenerate short term (2-4 years). Used as a specialist forage crop for stock finishing, or as a high-quality component of mixed perennial pastures on a stock grazing rotation. Its good nutritive characteristics make it a great summer crop option.
Agronomic Information:
- Sowing Rates 2-4kg/ha as a standalone crop or 1-2kg/ha in a mix
- Rainfall 600mm+
- Requires rotational grazing for persistence
- Likes fertile deep country, however, has slight tolerance of soil acidity.
