Description
Safflower is a winter/spring growing crop that is both heat and drought tolerant. Safflowers have an extensive root system that has the ability to break up hard pans, creating channels to assist water and air movement below ground. Using this annual as a rotation crop will help break up the possibility of cereal diseases such as take-all and crown rot. Including this variety in a cover crop mix has the benefit of attracting pollinators, adding biomass which helps with supplying nitrogen to the soil and is a great weed suppressor.

- Sowing rates 15-20kg per hectare as a standalone crop or include in a cover crop mix
- Suited to dryland and irrigation farming
- Ability to tolerate some salinity and sodic soil types.
