Description
The common pea is a grain legume grown for dry seed and fodder. This high-quality high protein option is grown primarily in rotation with cereal crops to help with nitrogen fixation for future pastures. These high-N fixers produce abundant forage growing rapidly, when planted in conjunction with other cereals and ryegrass they make excellent livestock forage, significantly boosting protein and relative feed value of small grain hay. Great companion with forage oats as it tends to climb through the canopy.
